Glass waste solutions: Current trends, emerging markets, and new technologies
In this issue, we look at approaches to the treatment and reuse of waste materials. The cover story describes the diverse factors that hamper glass waste recycling and discusses solutions to more effectively process and reuse this waste stream. A second feature article explores the possibility of sequestering carbon emissions in clay products. The final feature article details the technical assistance and workforce development resources offered by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office.
In addition to the feature stories, the “Deciphering the Discipline” column considers the prospects of nanoparticle-enabled magnetic separation in nuclear waste management. Meanwhile, the “Business and Market View” column overviews global markets for environmental remediation technologies.
This issue contains the annual announcement of ACerS Awards of 2024. The Society will recognize this year’s awardees during the ACerS Annual Honor and Awards Banquet Reception on Oct. 7, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
