Professor Alicia Durán Carrera has been awarded the 2022 Spanish Society of Materials (SOCIEMAT) – Spain Chapter of the American Ceramic Society (ACERS) prize for the scientific career in Glass and Ceramics. The awarding committee, chaired by Mr. Arnaldo Moreno Berto and Mr. Juan José de Damborenea González from both organizations, met virtually on May 24, 2022, and chose to award the prize to Professor Durán for her prominent research in Glass, Vitroceramics, and Materials produced by the Sol-Gel route, ranging from basic and fundamental research to technological development for the glass industry.
The award ceremony took place during the National Materials Congress, CNMAT 2022, which was held June 28 – July 1, 2022.
